In July of 2017, the Rio Grande Chapter of the Sierra Club voted to become the New Mexico home of The Global Warming Express. Since then, the program has grown to introduce 10-15 new school programs per year. This partnership has made a huge impact upon our growth and standing in New Mexico, particularly due to the efforts of the chapter’s Executive Director, Camilla Feibelman.

A GWE Environmental Field Trip on Pleasant Bay
The Friends of Pleasant Bay, a grassroots environmental group dedicated to the preservation of one of Cape Cod’s most stunning recreational and ecological resources, hosted a summer Global Warming Express camp, in 2016, which provided low-income scholarships for 95% of the attendees.
The Friends of Pleasant Bay partners with scientists from all over the Cape from organizations like: the Center for Coastal Studies, the Wellfleet Bay Bird Sanctuary, and the Manomet Center for Conservation Sciences. Through daily outdoor field trips in the Pleasant Bay area the group explores marine, atmospheric, earth and planetary sciences while learning how to advocate for our planet.
